Third Saturday Community Dance
Our Third Saturday Dances feature local and regional bands and callers. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to come when the dance begins for some simple pointers and the easiest dances. We do a variety of formations as the night progresses. Each band and caller bring a special magic to the event!
Third Saturday Dances are held at the Duluth Folk School.
Family Dance
We encourage all ages to participate in simple Playparties and the Big Circle Dance. Other traditional formations are introduced, all with plenty of movement to a live band. We relish three generations moving and playing together and intend to keep all our spirits young & alive!
Folk Toy Workshops
We offer occasional workshops that encourage children with their grown-up to make their own instruments and toys to play along with us. Take your toy home and get your Ma or Pa or a neighbor to play with you on that long winter night.
Dance & Music Workshops
From time to time we offer workshops that focus on various traditions and styles of music & dance. Beginners get the opportunity to join experienced dancers in a format that is supportive and relaxed.
